Love and Care

Provide your BLANKTURE lighting jewellery piece with some extra love and care to ensure it will last for many years to come.

We have divided the care instructions into sections for each material, please read them carefully before cleaning your product:

BLANKTURE BRASS

All our brass products are made of solid brass without surface treatment or coating as we want to keep the material pure, this amongst other things helps in the event that the material would be recycled in the future. Oxidising is a natural protective process for brass and we love the personalised expression each piece will develop over time. As the material will darken and develop stains from fingerprints, grease, water etc. you will need to polish regularly if you should prefer to keep it bright and polished. We recommend: Bistro for polishing as our brass is etched.

Please follow the instructions on the Bistro product carefully and make sure that the surface is dried thoroughly with a soft clean cloth to avoid water staining.

Please note:

  • The BLANKTURE lighting jewellery piece must always be removed from the lighting fixture before it is cleaned
  • Carefully follow the assembly instructions and warnings when removing and re-reattaching your BLANKTURE piece
  • Do not use other polishing agents or abrasive materials when cleaning
  • Brass is not dishwasher safe

BLANKTURE LEATHER

Leather is a natural material and will darken over time developing a patina that will give your piece a unique finish. As the leather parts of your BLANKTURE lighting jewellery is not touched frequently or out in harsh weather the material will not have to be cleaned often, if ever. However, if you want to clean the leather details we recommend light dusting with a clean dry cloth. Depending on your home environment & placement the leather may dry, to alleviate this you can condition with a leather conditioner.

Please note:

  • The BLANKTURE lighting jewellery piece must always be removed from the lighting fixture before you condition the leather
  • Carefully follow the assembly instructions and warnings when removing and re-reattaching your BLANKTURE piece
  • Do not use abrasive materials or agents when conditioning or dusting as this may leave marks on the leather
  • Ensure you protect the other materials of your piece when conditioning the leather as the conditioning agent may damage the brass or wood

BLANKTURE CERTIFIED PINE

Pine is a natural material that is affected by your home environment. Please follow the below care guidelines and note how the material could be affected by for example direct sunlight or concentrated heat.

Please note:

  • Do not put against radiators or other sources of concentrated heat, this will dry out the wood and may cause deformation or cracks.
  • Keep away from water or moisture as this may cause staining or deformation such as swelling
  • If placed in partial or full sunlight the colour of the finish may fade partially or entirely
  • Do not use any cleaning agents or other liquids on the pine products as this may change the appearance
  • The painted Platonic products are delicate and may also snag fabrics etc that may be difficult to remove, we recommend that you only use a soft bristle duster
  • The Charcoal Black Platonic must only be dusted with a clean dry cloth, as the finish is burned the cloth may be stained following dusting
